Dr Martin Goddard was appointed as a Consultant Histopathologist at Papworth Hospital in 1996. He provides a full range of diagnostic cardio thoracic pathology. He is the clinical lead for cardiac pathology including cardiac transplantation. He is Secretary of the UK Cardiac Pathology Network, and the specialty advisor to the Royal college of Pathologists ion Cardiac pathology. He receives referred hearts from cases of Sudden Adult Death and reviews autopsy cases. He undertakes a wide range of autopsies with a special interest in in-hospital deaths particularly following surgery or intervention. He is the pathology trainer to the Judicial College, responsible for training all Coroners.
His major research interests are in the field of cardio vascular disease and cardiac transplantation in particular coronary artery vasculopathy.
He is currently the Business Unit Lead for Pathology.

Dr Lewis is a consultant cardiologist and transplant physician, specialising in congenital heart disease, advanced heart failure, cardiothoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. He joined Royal Papworth Hospital in 2006 from Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Heart Hospital. Dr Lewis has a special interest in the health of young people, transition and leads the adult congenital heart disease service.
